Amitayus empowerment
This year's UKDC includes the empowerment of Buddha Amitayus. This blessing ceremony is an opportunity to make a special and close conection with the Buddha of long life, merit and wisdom. Through making this connection we can receive powerful blessings which will help us to make swift progress along our spiritual path.
The UKDC also includes teachings on the well-loved Buddhist text Geshe Langri Tangpa’s ‘Eight Verses of Training the Mind’, showing us how, through inreasing our love for others, we can transform our everyday life into the path to inner peace.
Kadam Bridget Heyes
The Celebration will be taught by Kadam Bridget Heyes, the NKT-IKBU National Spiritual Director for the UK and Resident Teacher of Nagarjuna Buddhist Centre, Northants. Kadam Bridget is a dedicated disciple of Venerable Geshe-la who has been studying and practising Kadampa Buddhism for many years.
