UK DHARMA CELEBRATION 2007

Thursday 13th - Sunday 16th September

The UK Dharma Celebration is an annual Kadampa Buddhist event inspired by the modern day Buddhist Master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, and held at Tara Centre in Derbyshire.  The Celebration is taught by Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab, the Deputy Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU).  It is a special opportunity for people from across the UK and overseas to gather together and enjoy a meaningful autumn holiday, with spiritual teachings, guided meditations and prayers – a chance to relax with friends in a beautiful and peaceful place.  All the proceeds from the UK Dharma Celebration go to the International Temples Project, a Buddhist charity building temples dedicated to World Peace in major cities across the globe.

Wisdom Nectar Blessings

The theme of this year's UK Dharma Celebration is Wisdom Nectar Blessings.  Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab will grant the empowerment of Buddha Manjushri and give teachings on dependent relationship.

The empowerment of Buddha Manjushri is an opportunity to receive special blessings from the Wisdom Buddha and, through this, to bring about the development and increase of our own inner wisdom.  This enables us to answer our own questions immediately as they arise, so avoiding doubt and hesitation.  Gen-la will give teachings on dependent relationship, explaining how things come into and go out of existence.  In particular, he will explain how, by developing wisdom within our own mind, we can apply these special teachings in our daily life and in this way begin to free ourselves from all problems.  Awakening to the way in which our personal world really exists is the path to permanent inner peace for both ourselves and others and becomes an indispensable friend in these troubled times.
