UK Dharma Celebration
11th ∼ 14th September 2008
Inspired by the renowned Buddhist master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the annual UK Dharma Celebration is a special opportunity for people from across the UK and overseas to gather together and enjoy a meaningful autumn holiday. Enjoy spiritual teachings, guided meditations, prayers and a chance to relax in a beautiful and peaceful place. The Celebration is taught by Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab, the Deputy Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU). All the proceeds from the UK Dharma Celebration go to the International Temples Project, a Buddhist charity building temples dedicated to World Peace in major cities across the globe.
Green Tara empowerment
The empowerment of Buddha Green Tara is an opportunity to receive special blessings from her, the Great Compassionate Mother. Arya Tara is called the Swift One, because she is a manifestation of the purified wind element. Through her blessings we can swiftly be rescued from danger and protected from suffering, and through relying upon her our compassion and wisdom will increase continuously, until we become an enlightened being for the benefit of all.
Gen-la Khyenrab will also give teachings on the well-loved Buddhist classic, Advice from Atisha’s Heart. This precious text contains the very essence practices of Kadampa Buddhism. Gen-la will explain how, by taking this advice to heart and practising it sincerely, we can integrate all our daily activities into the Kadampa way of life: developing our wisdom and compassion, and helping those in need whenever possible.
