Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche ∼
General Spiritual Director of the NKT-IKBU
The UK Dharma Celebration is the inspiration of the internationally renowned Buddhist master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Geshe Kelsang is the founder and Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU), a network of over 1000 Buddhist Centres worldwide, and the author of 20 highly acclaimed books on Kadampa Buddhism. Through his tireless work to provide all the conditions necessary to enter, make progress on and complete the Buddhist path to peace and happiness, people across the world now have the opportunity to study and practise the timeless wisdom of Buddha's teachings in a way that is especially suited to our modern view and way of life.
Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab
Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab is the deputy Spiritual Director of the NKT-IKBU and the Resident Teacher at Manjushri KMC, the Mother Centre of Kadampa Buddhism. Gen-la Khyenrab has studied and practised Kadampa Buddhism since 1980 under the guidance of his Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. His teachings, humility and kindness exemplify the essence of the Buddhist way of life; he is a perfect example of a Kadampa Teacher. This year at the UK Dharma Celebration Gen-la Khyenrab will grant the empowerment of Buddha Green Tara and give teachings on Advice from Atisha’s Heart.
